Friday. A light frost this morning. I hope it warms up a bit. I'm in Stroud today for the official opening of Wallbridge lower lock by The Prince of Wales, he's a local lad.

Hi oop there.

What a day, neighbours disasters to fix, phone and internet.Two loads of washing, old mate to drive to work. Had his drivers licence suspended due to medical conditions, poor fella only early sixties.

But found time to carve a couple of bowls from Yellow Box burls plus sunk a beer or two.

All was not wasted.

Afternoon oz. They're different! Very nice.

A different angle on the same items.

I get a better buzz hand carving and trying to keep a natural shape than sticking wood in the lathe and turning something.

Turning is quicker, hence a better hourly rate but doesn't highlight the natural shape.

It's always the way of it oz. They look very different from another angle. Certainly a talking point.

They with many other items, all different, hat and coat racks, tables, chairs, key racks, bookmarks, shoe racks, fire pits, wine racks etc will soon be displayed for sale.

Fingers crossed someone will open their wallet ;-)
