// Her solicitor, Attiq Malik, has written to the school saying its actions were a ‘straightforward’ test case of discrimination on the grounds of religion. ///

/// Mr Malik, of Liberty Law Solicitors, added: ‘The Government constantly talks about British values. To me, those values include diversity and multiculturalism.’ ///

No.
Under no circumstances should adults in a school be allowed to mask their identity, purely for the safety of the children and the staff.

Gromit

We can agree on that at least Gromit.
It's not a requirement of the religion.
// ‘I was very shaken and was in a state of shock about what had happened. I had never experienced anything like this before. When I got home, I just broke down. //

Not just an idiot. A pathetic idiot.

All part and parcel of her religion Gromit, very easily offended.
I don't think the Islamic religion has a monopoly on being offended., AOG.
Left wing solicitors, I wonder if she is getting legal aid?
Look at the tweets.

Then I think the security of this school needs looking into.

This mother has done nothing towards fostering a good relationship for her daughter's first days at this school.
has anyone seen her boat? just wondering what she was covering!
I don't think they have discriminated but based only on the articles I have read today it appears as they didn't have a clear policy then it was rather poorly handled on the occasion in question.

Should have been sorted without this fuss.
No she isn't being discriminated on the grounds her religion. The school has policy that bans face covering, no matter what their religion. Nobody is allowed to wear a veil, Muslim or not.
*a policy*
//In an email from deputy head Ross Wilson to Serroukh on 21 June, the deputy said the school did not have a written policy banning visitors wearing a face veil.

“It has not been necessary to date for the school to have this requirement stated in written policy,” wrote Wilson. “Given the concerns you have raised, we are now considering a written amendment to our health and safety policy to include this specific requirement and will follow the normal protocol of seeking the approval of the governing body.”//

They did not have a policy at that time, possibly do now.

Surely everything does not need to be included in a 'written' policy?
This woman is offended for a reason.

Rather than religious reasons I suspect it is for publicity reasons.

Publicity for a 'cause'. Which in this case would be to the normalising of full face covering when inappropriate, just to get it across to us numpties that full face covering is a fact we cannot stop or get away from for fear of appearing racist or far right or whatever.

Forget the fact it is a school and for the safety of everyone, especially the children, everyone should be seen and identifiable at all times.

These type of people shout racist to shut you up. It often works so they do it even when not appropriate. Say it enough times and it becomes true.
Maybe everything doesn't need to be in a written policy but it sure helps.

Anyway now it is known, the future should be less complicated.

?
How ... when she is out and about will autograph hunters be able to spot her?
Can't see why the school have a problem with her wearing the veil, and it looks as though they want to introduce a banning policy as a result of this.

The school obviously has some sort of security at the gate, the lady is happy to lift her veil and produce photo ID for security to verify who she is and that she has a reason for entering the grounds and to lift the veil when dealing with a female teacher, so what exactly is the problem ?

I'd say it is discrimination because I can't see any particularly good reason for introducing the ban on parents wearing the veil.

No school I know of has security at the gates, maybe to get in the building but not the grounds.
