Aldi

Bought strawberries, potatoes, carrots from Aldi on Wednesday, I didn't bother with the cauli because it looked unappetizing.
Some of the strawberries were furry yesterday and the potatoes are already sprouting.
I think I'll avoid the fresh fruit and veg next time. Anyone else experienced this?

I prefer their tinned premium tomatoes. dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, toilet paper, laundry capsules, toilet cleaner, bleach etc to any other brand or supermarket own and the deodorant is very good.
I have noticed the prices creeping up, though

Today we bought 'fake' oreos from Aldi -now being Canadian my teenage son has been brought up on oreos and milk -we did a blind taste test with some real ones we had -Aldi's fake one came out tops! Anyone who blindly says 'I would not be seen dead in there' has either had a bad experience form one shop or is a food snob! They have some great stuff, great wine and lovely gravlax and smoked bacon. Must admit veggies can be a bit hit and miss but we grow all of ours in the summer and in the winter I buy frozen
I really like Aldi, hc....I do buy food and stuff....most of it much better than other places at higher prices.
And the wine's very good.....
But it's the power tools that draw me in......with a three year no quibble guarantee on everything.....
I don't buy much in the way of fruit and veg because we have a super little greengrocer in town and I can buy little and often there.....x

I shop around and Aldi is one of the places where i get a few bargains, I too bought fresh veg there and found it didn't last too long so stay with my greengrocer for local produce. I like their cup-a-soups, I've no time for making pots of soup and storing it, Aldi's Tomato and Basil is nice and doesn't leave me with heartburn. I find most of their goods ok, their dairy produce is half the price of other large supermarkets. It's handy for frozen veg, I suppose freezer fillers in general and cupboard fillers. Cleaning products and such items are good value in Aldi. I still prefer treat myself to toiletries from the chemist.
