his character al swarengen(?) was english in real life.the series is based on the real town called deadwood and how it grew in such turbulent times.

it is excellent tho with great attention to detail...check out those hairy female pits mmmmm !

Brilliant programme, Ian McShane is an outstanding actor.
My favourite is Calamity but my husband thinks that Jules is fantastic, what an actress.
