The food at the nearest one to here is rubbish and the next one is River Cottage but their portions are miniscule. Don't mind paying but I like to feel as if I have had a meal. I'll cook,got a huge gammon joint in the freezer.

That must be a relief to you, giveup! My wife and I paid ours off early (many years ago), by paying extra whenever possible. Soon after we had made the final payment, I got a letter from the local Inland Revenue office. They wanted to know where we had got the money from to pay off the mortgage. Cheeky devils!
