Yes-children are horrors sometimes... .(oh,ok-most of the time). But it's really not fair to tell 3 women who obviously really want children(and would be good at it) to 'count themselves lucky'. They need sympathetic ears who will listen.

at 36 you have a good 10 years of child bearing left i reckon. it's really not helpful for people to say platitudes like that i know. I also know this isn't all that helpful but just to give you hope at 36 i'd been trying for babies for 9 years and was trying to come to terms with the fact it wasn't going to happen, when i unexpectedly found myself PG. I am now 38 and have had 3 babies. Things can change v quickly.
It makes you cross about all that worrying about getting pg when you were younger though, no?

Although I've wanted kids for years, it is only since I met Mr BM that I thought he would be the right person to be the father. Sadly with my issues (I was told at 19 I couldn't have kids) and the fact he has had the snip it will probably never happen.
There isn't a day goes by that I don't lament this. :(

It's OK NoM, you kind of get used to it. We both want children (he has 2 from a previous relationship, he wanted lots but his ex only wanted 2 and made him have the snip), but its all a bit too late for us realistically. I looked into adopting and made a few enquiries but with our age and the fact that I am the main earner (not him) the SWs will not even consider us. So sad. We could offer a child a brilliant home and he might be an idiot, but he is a great dad.
