She'll be playing Stella's mum.

Coronation is certainly getting some quality actors these days. Will you be pleased to see her in the Rovers?

yes, a class act
i'll never forget her as sheila grant in brookside
playing stellas mum and leanne and evas gran!
Love Sue Johnston.............but are we getting the one from The Royle Family (common as muck) or the posh one from Waking The Dead?
Question Author
Being Stella's mum I'd hazard a guess at something inbetween but nearer to the common as muck.
And of course she'll be Leanne's granny.
Don't you find it strange that Stella has never mentioned her mum or Leanne and Eva haven't talked about their grandmother, lots of characters appear out of the blue!
oo! i can't see her as anything other than sheila grant!

i never watched the royle family!
/// some quality actors these days///

Good, all we need now are some quality scripts.
Question Author
The dementia storyline is very well scripted and acted.
She'll always be Sheila Grant
I hope her hubby, Jim from the royal family will appear as the grandad?
Love Sue Johnston...but can't stand corrie...so no will not be watching.
Looking forward to seeing her in Corrie - great actress ...
Stella, played by Michelle Collins, will then be joined by her 'battleaxe' mother, to be played by 'Royle Family' star Sue Johnston, to try and lay claim to the tenancy.

“She's a terrifying, domineering, overbearing mother, so there's going to be some real sparks flying,” said ‘Corrie’ boss Phil Collinson.

Looks like we might not like her after all!!
Great actress. Bound to act 'Stella' off the screen.
I hope she makes a better job of it than Stephanie Cole, who is a bit of a disappointment as a battleaxe, for which I blame the scriptwriters, not her.
Question Author
They've softened Stephanie Cole's character up. I think it's nice she's thawing out and showing a softer side.
Really mike - I think she's a vile old bag !!!
I don't like battleaxes so I'm glad they are showing a softer and humoures sp? side to Sylvia.
Question Author
The idle, layabout scruffy male character is missing, but Terry Duckworth is coming back for a short while.
