it is fantastic i have the series on DVD never fails to make me laugh no matter how many times i watch it
The first few tv series were only broadcast on Irish tv and were dire. Whoever decided to turn it in to the polished and brilliant BBC series had a lot of vision.
I've never heard the radio series, read the books or seen the stage version.
I intend to though.
My OH and I laugh so loud when watching it that we have to rewind to catch the bits we have missed., It is one of the funniest things on tv and the series never seem to run for long enough! Brilliant!
I don't know what I missed since you find it so brilliant, but I find it really dire... almost as if we are watching different programmes!

One of the funniest shows I've ever seen. The Christmas one where Mrs Browns son came back brought tears to my eyes.
I thought it was a stage show that has been brought over from Ireland. Mr Ask always laughs at Mrs Brown's Boys, and he got the DVD for Christmas. I got a bit fed up of hearing the 'fecking this and that' the 'Oh mammy's'. Ok in small doses.
boxtops, you realy do have to get out more
Sorry but I really dont get it at all - yet nearly everyone else thinks its great - just goes to show there are horses for courses
