Not exactly a big deal normally for most, but for me it was.
After much haranguing, complaints, phone calls and emails by my sister, the ward manager finally relented to a visit (PPE'd of course) and she took mum a new mobile phone in.
Spoke to mum for nearly an hour. She just wanted to talk and talk and talk.
She's now down for surgery tomorrow, first on the list.
Have been warned that given my mums present health conditions that its risky but she's agreed and signed a DNR form.
Hope tonight isnt the last night that I get to speak to her...

Just wanted to say thanks to all who replied on my other threads re my mum.
Appriciate it, thank you.

I'm not usually one for prayers but I'll cross my fingers for your Mum.
Good luck to her, and of course all your family.
I’m so glad you got to speak with your mum, Nailit. I’ve been reading your posts over the past few weeks and feel so sad that you have had to go through this.

Funny enough Sharon,
a hospital chaplain came to see her today and mum said that she said a little prayer with her.
Doesnt float my boat but if it gives her comfort who am I to say otherwise. Thank you.
So pleased that you were able to talk. Hoping that all goes well for tomorrow but should it not she will be out of pain and the passing would have been peaceful. Stay strong for her. You will both be I'm my thoughts tomorrow
I've been there Nailit, I hope your outcome is at least as good as mine was - although in her Nineties, Mum lived for several more years in good health for her age.
Hoping and praying for the best outcome for all.
The fact that your mother was able to speak to you on the phone for nearly an hour is a very encouraging sign.

I hope all goes well for your Mum, Nailit.
My FIL, was 93, when he fell and broke his hip. We didn't expect him to survive, but he did. He had three more years. Best wishes.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome xx
Have also been following your posts and although I've not joined in before just wanted to add thinking of you and your mum, what you're both going through is a nightmare and wishing you both some respite.
That's lovely nailt , I'm wishing you Mum all my best wishes for tomorrow and of course you and your siter too
Sounds sensible, if she did die, anesthetized, on the operating table would it be such a terrible thing. she knows you love her, you have done everything you can, take what comes knowing you have the support of people around you and online.
Im so pleased you were able to speak to your dear Mum Nailit. Huge good wishes for her opn tomorrow x
