Seperated for 3 months, divorce applied for. One teenaged child at home with me.
What rights do I have? What are his obligations?
He's getting rid of his assets and building up a big business account overdraft so he doesn't have to give me anything. The tax man thinks he has made very little through his business. He's going to stop paying the mortgage and other bills, and I don't earn enough to cover them. Any advice?

sell the house and downsize to something you can afford i guess
How long have you been married? What do you own?
Mediation? I thought it was a required step in the divorce process now...it allows couples to sort any differences-including financial-with a non involved counsellor.

Been married for 14 years. Don't own anything except a small proportion of the house! I'm not after anything I'm not morally entitled to, but it seems he doesn't want me to have anything.
Mediation sounds a good idea but I don't think he'll do it fairly as he is pleading poverty.
How long have you been separated?

Only ask because people can be really spiteful at the beginning...
ummmm, read OP re separation
It's cheaper to keep him, or threaten to stay with him until he gives into your demands.
get to a lwyer and put an injunction in - in the states this 'freezing' is the first thing the divorce lawyer does (on both parties) until a mediation is met (not necessarily the divorce as that is final process and long term agreement).
and phone your lawyer this afternoon!
Tambo - separation often happens a long time before it's made official. 3 months could be the day he moved out...
he is obliged to maintain any child under 16 but not you.....see solicitor get his accounts frozen fast before he hides everything....do you know anything about his business income , hjas he been hiding money from tax man....good weapon if you do know of any jiggery pokery....get it seen to FAST 1
"he is obliged to maintain any child under 16 but not you" - not necessarily true, it's called spousal maintenance.
