Drunk and disorderly

I was in a bar about a week ago, and stupidly stole two drinks from behind an unmanned bar. I was caught, but managed to exit the club before a bouncer stopped me. My friend was held and gave them my name and number. I received a phone call today from a policeman saying that I need to come in and speak to him. I was wondering that if the bar will be unforgiving, what can I be charged with? I also have already received a penalty notice of 80 pounds, (for an even sillier incident) which occurred two years ago in another county. Will this have any affect?

I'd say that you're a bit unlucky. People have done that where I work and we have just thrown them out and barred them. No police involvement.

If they are to prosecute, it stands to reason that you'll be charged with theft, but I'm no lawyer so couldn't be sure.

If I were you I'd hope that the police/bar are far too busy to deal with the theft of two drinks and that you get a slap on the wrist/caution.

I'd also take this (considering you have previous of 'silly incidents') as a warning that perhaps you should ease up on the consumption of alcohol if it contributes you to behaving like that.

Good luck.
