For the first time in ages, I am going to be somewhere abroad that I won't have WiFi access.
So what's the cheapest way to get 10 days broadband lappy access in Spain ... but sorting it out here.
Vodafone do a "Pay As You Go" system ... but it doesn't work abroad. To use it abroad, you have to sign up for a year ... 12 x �15 + a �40 chip = �220 ... quite a lot for 10 days.
So is there anything I can do ?

ok... so I can't help with the internet connection...

if the hotel has not got wireless then there is no guaranteed way of getting Internet access while there.
Even if you were to buy a USB dongle you wouldn't know if there is a decent enough mobile phone signal (on the correct network) that would cover the hotel. until you get there and try it, and if it doesn't work it's a lot of money for a little plastic thingy that won't do anything.

Villa in the middle of nowhere is not sounding like a good place to be getting Internet access on a mobile dongle!
Does the villa have a phone line in it? you may find the best option is to use old style dialup on a normal phone line (though that does then give a whole new set of problems)
or, (and I'll say it before somebody else does) you're going on holiday, don't worry about t'internet, it will still be here when you get back :) x

if you want to try a dongle (ooo errr) then your cheapest bet is probably to buy a spanish PAYG one over there, but as I am pretty sure there is more than one mobile network in Spain you would probably be best to check the different network coverage for the providers before you go so you can select the one thats most likely to work where you are.

Vodafone seem to have the best coverage for data use in spain
I'd still say that you'd be better off buying a spanish dongle, but the roaming charges have dropped just recently, so if your already with vodafone then you may be able to sort something out with them to use your phone to connect (dongles are just phones without the phone part, you can use most phone as a dongle)
I'll be honest, It's been a long day and I can't be bothered to go and research international charges and coverage right now :)
if ya don't mind posting a location for the villa I'll have a search for possible coverage tomorrow.
