I recently purchase an item from a person that according to ebay was a very reliable buyer with a 10+ & no negative comments.

He gave me an ABBEY NATIONAL account number & sort code including his name to put the money in.

after i had deposited the cash into the account he closed his ebay account & hasnt reply or sent the goods i purchase!!

I have his bank account details... what do i do to get my money back? the bank wont give me his personal details.

please someone advise?

Kind regards

Please be good enough to provide the listing number so we can see when the listing ended, the terms of the listing and any protection available to you through eBay.

Give the details to the police, it's theft!
How do you know it's theft? It could be lost in the post and the seller away on his holidays.

come on man... really? how do you explain closure of the account? nowadays every country got internet.. if he is on holiday he can reply... and the chance of something lost in the post on a 1class mail delivery is really low....

only one explaination.... theft. anyways Police are dealing with it now. thats what ebay advised aswell... wish i had the guys detail personally... would love to go and get my money personally....
Many many items get lost in the post - that is a fact.

I'm not saying you have not been scammed, but without more information it is impossible to say.

Let's have the listing number to get the facts.
Have you pulled his details from eBay? As a buyer you are entitled to do this. You should get his full name, address and telephone number, unless he has registered false details.

Ebay offer some form of buyer's protection but without seeing the listing it is impossible to say if you are entitled to claim on it.

As you have his name and the area he lives at the very least, you could try a search of B4U and 192.com.

If I have the listing number I will be able to see if any other people have been scammed by this seller - if that is the case, you will have a much better chance with the police.

this is the listing number = (190134546284) . the seller =misticseller. ebay is useless...

please advise
You have been scammed without a doubt - all the feedback is from other new ebay users (probably the seller in a different id), and all very low value goods.

That listing of yours cannot be found so I still don't know the details.

Get the seller's contact details here - you will receive an email:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/ws/search/AdvSearch?s ofocus=bs&sacat=-1&catref=C5&_trksid=m37&from= R7&nojspr=y&fsop=1&fsoo=1&fcl=3&frpp=50&sofind type=9&pfid=

I doubt they will be genuine but it is worth a shot.

As you have reported it to the police, hopefully with full bank details and so on, I hope they take it seriously and get the seller's details from the bank.

The seller did not close his account - there must be at least three months from the last transaction for an account to be closed by the user. He has been naru'd by eBay for non-payment of fees (doubtful as he hasn't been registered long enough) or because of some sort of fraudulent activity.

wots the account no and sort code..????

I don't quite see how he mananged to close his account, because I tried to close mine and it took almost nine months to close it, they won't let you close it for ages .... however there is obviously something amiss here ...
Oh sorry had not read the end of Ethel's post
