The plot thickens...
I still want to know what Putin’s justification was for claiming the state funded the rebels. My first question was why? It makes no sense.
Question Author
Who knows. But I suggested the last time you asked that that perhaps he wanted to give the impression that Wagner is not an “alien” and is an integral part of the state.
This after years of claiming the opposite. In fact he was claiming the opposite only recently.
Bunch of clowns making it up as they go along
Mad.
Naomi.
I thought that and reckon that it was Putin trying to tell the populace that these wagner rebels were biting the motherlands hand that feeds them. I believe Putin is embarrassed and desperate and knows he has shown up to be very vulnerable. It's his only card left to pretend Wagner are the baddies ( which no doubt they are) and he is still saviour of the Motherland. I don't believe the Russian state gave Wagner one rouble but financed themselves through crime. Just like the IRA. Bank Robbery's and Drugs. That's my opinion. Maybe I am wrong.

Earlier today a leading representative of the Ukraine govt Anton Herashenko independently claimed that Surovikin was a member of Wagner and even quoted the number on his membership badge!
I bet veterans of Aleppo are hoping the hang the ******* by something very painful

You”re a lot closer to the truth than Putin retro!
They may have dropped them the odd ruble or two as well of course …

Also reported now in the Moscow Times
I wouldn't put it past the Kremlin to want some scapegoats though
how high is the Lefortovo pre-trial detention centre?
Question Author
Surovikin until recently was second in command in Ukraine and more or less running the war.
He’s one hell of a scapegoat.
Hopefully news of his arrest will have a further devastating effect on morale among the invaders.
Ukrainian forces meanwhile are back in the streets of Bakhmut.
After all that …
I have it on good authority that Putin is losing the war in Iraq.
Yes and sleepy joe hopes to stand for a second term. Where do the Americans dig these relics up ?

He probably couldn't put his finger on a Mercator Projection and show wher Iraq or for that matter, Russia is ,located.
Or as biden said last week
God save the Queen
Question Author
Well hands up who’s not got that wrong since last September :-)

Joe just needs to send the ATACMS.
And Switzerland had stopped the sendingof 96 Leopards to Ukraine it doesn’t even own any more on the grounds of “neutrality” or to give it the proper term: “fear of losing all that Russian money”
It's really hard to sift the truth from the mountains of propaganda that Russia routinely offers to its own people, and the West.

Hopefully some reliable news sources will find out what is actually going on.

Two of Russia’s latest “military targets” twins Anna and Yulia, 14 killed by an Iskander missile along with 9 others in a pizzeria in Kramatorsk.

That was on last night's news, Ich. Some target in war! Perhaps they're all drunk.

Retro, 20.23. you've probably got something there.
Prigozhin new what he was doing through all this. He wanted a change of Russian war leaders and i now it may happen, this means Ukraine may have to up its game.
Question Author
They know what they are doing.
The SBU (Ukraine intelligence service) arrested a local man immediately after the atrocity in Kramatorsk who allegedly had passed info on the target to the Russians. SO, as I said before, this was no accident or stray missile.
Wouldn't like to be in his shoes.
At the time, the restauarant was being used by some Colombian journalists, there to rally support for Ukraine among Latin American countries.
