We've mentioned animals and the young, elderly and disabled who have problems with fireworks, but what about our emergency services? Another very good reason why fireworks should not be on sale to the general public.

Shocking isn't it? Bunch of brain dead morons.
Question Author
Absolutely ummmm and just the tip of the iceberg. I think our firefighters have enough to deal with without this.
yup, it happened last year too.
Another reason might be 'Discriminant Littering' or arson due to carelessness.
Manchester has been a dangerous area for the emergency services for some years.I noticed some 25 years ago ambulance crews wearing body armour around Moss side. They were dealing with an RTC as we drove by. I asked GMP ,when we reached our destination, why they wore body armour. We were told that the brain dead morons would create ,deliberately, an incident be it a fire or serious assault and then wait on top of high rise flat in the estate and take pot shots at the arriving emergency services.

//I wonder where this moron's brains are? //

Depending on the size of the rocket and trajectory I would guess what little grey matter he may have possessed has reached,at least ,his neighbour's roof.
Says where his brains are in your link, Naomi. In capital letters :-)) Probably did it to make a name for himself on social media. I think he may have succeeded though i doubt the name i have in mind would be allowed on AB. But there is an actor of the same name - starred in Buffy, back in the day.
// Firefighters were attacked by a 40-strong gang of young people as they attempted to put out a bonfire on Great Norbury Street in Hyde earlier this evening. //

Interesting that they fail to report that Great Norbury Street is a Bangladeshi area.
Must be something in the water that the yobs drink oooop North.

Retro, you think we only have this problem up North? Something I can't comment on, but perhaps Abers in other parts of the country could say if they also have the problem?
A young man told me yesterday that he got his fireworks cheap from a friend who had a licence to buy the bigger better fireworks! I will say no more.
//Retro, you think we only have this problem up North?//

Well to be fair I have only read two news reports in our National papers with regard to hooliganism and riots with police and firefighters. They both happen to be up North. The major claim to notoriety darn Saaarf is your usual daily stabbings. :-(

That's interesting, and given a choice between fireworks and stabbings, I know which I would choose.
A poor horse was severely injured after it tried to jump a fence to get away from loud bangs and was caught up in barbed wire. I also have to ask why the owner left it alone in a field on ruddy bonfire night ??
What about them ? Yobs are yobs regardless what they use as tools/weapons. You don't go around banning things because some morons misuse them. There'd be nothing much left unbanned like that.
Question Author
O-G the yobs wouldn't be able to use them as weapons if they couldn't buy them. Have you not noticed how difficult it is to buy knives now?
//You don't go around banning things because some morons misuse them.// er yes, you do.
So you can't buy a knife now ?
Question Author
O_G why do you never read things as they are written? I said,
'Have you not noticed how difficult it is to buy knives now?
'You have read that as,' you can't buy a knife now ?'
Do you not see the difference?
the differewnce is that there are other needs for knives. No one needs fireworks.
