it matters not a jot, of course, who becomes the new Leader of the Loony Tunes, but its predicted that Ukip will die if anti-Islam campaigner Anne-Marie Waters becomes leader.

UKIP were only really ever a force when Farage was leader. Not sure it'll make a huge difference if Waters takes over. There will always be a constituency that people like her stand for, but I can't help feeling that splits are inevitable no matter who takes over.

Itchy....according to the Telegraph, and other media, if Waters succeeds today, it will the end of UKIP as we know it, as half of its MEPs could resign.
I think UKIP as we know or perhaps rather knew it, is already dead. I am sure it will carry on in name, which is more or less what it is doing now. Farage, as he explains at that link, is on the libertarian right, fundamentally at odds with the racist right. He could hold it all together by the force of his personality and having temporarily the cause of the wicked old EU. Without someone like him, they have already regressed to a squabbling rabble.
I think they are just trying to be democratic, letting every member take a turn at being leader. There can't be many left who have not been leader or at least tried to.
Do the British MEP's continue for the 2 year transitional period? I suspect not. If so there is little point in them resigning .
The UKIP MEP.s I mean ^
Question Author
Eddie....good point about the 2 year transition period !

( which still hasn't been agreed by the EU by the way)

I suspect that the UKIP MEPs will continue to bludge the EU, for every Euro they can, right up until the very last second.
UKIP, what's that ?.
I see your obsession with the most successful party in history continues mikey! PMSL!
Question Author
TTT...just keeping the pot bubbling over !
well they've done a lot better than Labour, they've got their key policy through without ever setting foot in Parliament. Labour have been out of power since 1979 and show no signs of ever getting back in.
Question Author
TTT.....Breakfast calls, so I don't have time to unpick the load of bulls excrement that is your last post.

UKIP are finished....get used to it.
I am used to it mikey, I have called on them to disband many times, I agree with you on that. They have achieved their head line aim and have no need to exist anymore. The most successful party in History, they should quit at the top. Now cut and paste this and refer to it whenever you want my view on UKIP.
Interim acting leader, Stephen Crowther is a good man, and would be a much better choice, but I don't know if his hat's in the ring.

Of course if Nigel comes back the brown stuff will really hit the fan for both parties, particularly Labour.
I wish Mikey would stop telling people to get used to it. We're all used to it.

I agree with ichkeria. UKIP was only successful with Farage at the helm.
" The most successful party in history" with so many MPs!
Should be called the { PMSL party]
Gulliver, when you've cleaned yourself up you might want to consider that UKIP achieved its goal without MPs. Some achievement, wouldn't you say?
// I wish Mikey would stop telling people to get used to it. We're all used to it. //

We're all used to it except Mikey. He's the only person that keeps blathering on about UKIP as if they're still relevant in any way after the Brexit vote.
having a party call UK Independence is pointless now we are soon to be "Independent", It's be like have a - lets make grass green party. So yes mikey we get it, you seem obsessed with their every move.
The Whigs have had their day - get used to it everybody!
Ah but in Mikey's mind Brexit only happened because of UKIP and Farage so with the demise of UKIP Mikey banging on about it is almost like saying Brexit is dead because UKIP is.

Well that's how it comes across anyway.

The only people who think UKIP have a chance of survival is UKIP. Everyone else seems to accept they will eventually implode and fizzle out. However you never know, survival is an odd thing. Look at the lib Dems. They limp on regardless!!!

Now that UKIP is to all intents and purposes a gone deal (((IF))) Farage decided to get back to politics properly without UKIP which party do you think he would be more inclined to align with?
