On Feb 14 I was awarded nearly £2000 by the Crown Court against the CPS for wasted costs. The CPS will not pay me the money because they don't think its right!!!! I have spoken to the court several times but they say they have done what they can by issuing the order. I have written to the judge but have not heard back. I spoke to an enforcement company but they can't enforce Crown Court orders ony County Court or High Court orders. Anyone have any ideas how I can enforce this order. Thanks in advance.

you can apply for enforcement at the court and send in the bailiffs.

Which Court? Apparently the baliffs don't enforce Crown Court orders...
There must be a mechanism, or the whole thing is pointless.
try here:

No mention of crown court in that link, tora and I can't find any reference on how to enforce such an order.

Hopefully you'll get your answer, valgem. Try phoning a solicitor or CAB.
fair enough but there must be a way or why bother?
What is the exact wording of the order, valgem?
If they get away with this can anyone who is fined refuse to pay because 'they don't think its right?'
What about a sherriff? the TV program says they have more power than baliffs and can enforce high court orders.

eddie51, I spoke to The Sheriffs Office they can't enforce Crown Court orders only County Court and High Court
Bailiffs, sheriffs, law enforcement agencies can only enforce civil debts and from the wording of the order yours is a criminal order.

You need to speak to a solicitor.

You can also call the Law Society on 020 7320 5650. Tell them you can't find a solicitor to help you with your particular problem and hopefully they'll put you in touch with one that can

any good ?; http://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/procedure-rules/criminal/docs/2012/crim-proc-rules-2013-part-52.pdf

I am surprised a statutory body wont obey the law . have you tried complaining to the AG / DPP ? Presumably they want you to go back to court where they can defend Round 2 ....

quite a lot here
Clearly the CPS doesnt like them -
and has statutory powers to resist them
see here; http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/advice/practice-advice-service/faqs/wasted-costs-orders/
sorry done that one:
http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/a_to_c/costs/#a16

this is the CPS advice for costs orders against the CPS
and makes the point that your feeling of gratitude that you have been found innocent and the justice sustem has worked for once should be compensation enough
I might consider speaking to my MP and see if they would make contact with cps as well.
