What Is My Legal Name?

I was registered with two forenames. I have always been known by my second forename, which I prefer. I always sign my name with both initials. My passport shows both names, bank statements show both initials, I eventually manage to persuade people to call me by my preferred name, although invariably they initially call me by my first forename. Is there a legal requirement that documents such as airline tickets have to be issued by my first forename?
Do I have any right to insist that my preferred name is used for official purposes such as banks, health or the electoral roll?

airline bookings must match the details on your passport. people can call you whatever you like, but your name remains the same.. unless you legally change your name.
or fill out forms with names reversed
say your initials were M & F, you want to be known as F, then give that as your name rather than the M. Your passport proves who you are should anyone official query it.
Good advice, you can call yourself whatever you wish providing it is not designed to deceive, your passport may record your previous name.
your legal name is the name on your birth certificate, you can continue to use that name after marriage if you are a female. You can call yourself whatever you want as long as it is not for illegal purposes and legally call yourself by any variation of the name on your birth cetificate.
