We haven't planned to do anything special to mark the occasion. Should we just have a normal day and maybe a celebration later on in the year? We had been planning a party but owing to unforseen circumstances we put those plans on the back boiler. Not sure whether or not to revive them and party later on or just forget all about it and do something just for the two of us at a later date. Any thoughts?

DVD and takeaway in bed ;-)
Oh congratulations!! Well depends on what mood you are in I guess. You could both go out for a lovely meal, or if you in a bit of a spontaneous mood then you could ring everyody up and invite them over! Im free!
Id have a party nungate but im a
Party person lol!!!

Congratulations its an achievement and becominh unusual these days sadly!! My mum and dads is soon and theyl have a party and renew vows i think and im hoping to save up to send them to vegas xxxx
Talk to the only other person who matters, decide between you what will make you happy and do it. Many congratulations.
Congrat's, well done.
I've always been baffled by wedding anniversaries, to my mind it is something personal and private between the two of you. I just don't really understand why we receive cards from friends and family on our anniversary.

Having said that, I do like a good party!!! For significant anniversaries, 25, 40, 50yrs etc it is nice to reunite your guests, bridesmaids, best man and all have a good laugh at what you were all wearing and reminisce.

Ultimately it is your choice whether or not you have a party. A summer bash might be nice if you feel inclined. Equally the two of you could just take yourselves away for a night/weekend/week and enjoy some time together.

Didn't I mention that I married possibly the most unsociable man on the planet? He's very sweet and kind and all that stuff but not what you'd call a party animal (sorry Tinks) So I think he'd gladly forgo a party - he also tried to weasel out of the wedding reception! He's fine in company and very hospitable but terribly shy - begs the question what is he doing with me? Reckon we might just go off on our own at some point.
Congrats nungate !
Your next target is 50 Years together !
In that case nungate I think a couple of glasses of bubbly at home followed by a lovely meal out at a restaurant.
Happy anniversary xxx. Bottle of bubbly and a nice meal together.
When our 25th anniversary was approaching, we wondered if we ought to throw the obligatory party for the family, but we counted up and found that we could invite only 8 people, and half of them were over 70! So we thought, we can't have much of a party with that crew, so we blew the party money on 3 weeks in the USA for the two of us. Had a lot more fun.
Our children sent hubby and I to paris for a week on our big anniversary, and we came back on the Orient Express - fabulous time.
Congratulations to you both on your Silver Wedding anniversary. You must do something to mark the day so get yourselves spruced up and out for a meal with a glass of bubbly to start the meal or the bottle if you're not driving...

Lovely suggestions from you all. Tonight I've decided to cook some nice beef fillets, with a Diane sauce, and all the trimmings, I have some bubbly in the fridge, and daughter is bringing home a nice pudding. A nice quiet night in I'm afraid. Daughter's birthday is in July so we'll have a bit of a blow out then when her boyfriend will also be able to attend and if it's fine weather we can spill out into the garden and invite the neighbours. How does that sound?
Congratulations mr and mrs nungate and it's a special day so get yourselves out to a nice restaurant have a lovely meal and drinks, spoil yourselves and get a taxi both ways.
Congratulations nungate. Have a wonderful day whatever you decide.
It sounds like a lovely idea. Enjoy your meal this evening and look forward to a nice relaxed family day in the summer.
♫ Happy Anniversary!! ♫ ♥♥♥

Sounds good Nungate.....and congratulations on you're Silver Wedding anniversary.

You could even plan to go away in July and celebrate the two events, if you're hubby would agree, and of course daughter and boyfriend!xx
