Don't want to seem too trivial here but........... My neighbours wooden fence is pushing over my boundary and has destroyed the concrete and wood partition that I had erected. Regrettably, we are not on friendly terms. I have spoken to the lady involved twice and her daughter once but have been "blanked" on each occasion. My offer was that if they were to consider a replacement of the fence then I would be prepared to pay for gravel boards so that the situation did not arise again. If I were to approach them again, could anyone please help as to the best way to actually get a positive result? Would appreciate any help. Many thanks.

If the fence is thiers (and you have checked the deeds to make sure) then providing they are not causing damage then there is little you can do.

I would be inclined to give them one more chance and say that if it isn't fixed by xxx then you will be clearing your area and 'pushing' the fence back to an upright position.

However when you do this you must make sure that you do not damage the fence as this could be criminal damage!

Other than putting your own fence up on your own land there is not a great deal to be done. A second boundry fence however, is not a good idea.

send them a letter saying this need rectifying as it could fall and hurt or kill someone...present them with your offer and ask for a date of reply - say 2 weeks...you could put a SAE in too incase they dont want to come to your house...that way theres no excuse...

tell them if something isnt done then you will have to take maters further
be polite and formal of course
