My car was stolen last night from my driveway but the scummy little t*&%s came into my house & took the car & house keys. The car is on finance but if we dont get the car back are the insurance company likely to pay out if they took the keys? Thanks

How did they get the keys from your house? Did you have a break in or where they taken by a friend or family?
how mean is that, taking your keys - knowing it would be affect your ins claim. You must have 'dropped' your keys accidentally?

c'mon burglars - play the game Else I'll blast you with Queen!

The keys were in the house. They just came in had a quick search through a few drawers & bags etc found the keys (car & house) and took the car. It was done within half an hour between my partner coming home at half 11 & me getting in from work at 12.
Well if they were stolen in a burglary then I wouldn't think you would have any problem claiming on the insurance, it's quite common.

hope so.Im just a bit concerned that beacuse they didnt actually break in to the house or car that there will be some sort of clause
Get a URN report from police to support your claim.
Question Author
whats a URN report? Police & scene of crime people have been to take finger prints etc & we have a crime reference number.
if you didn't invite them in, they must have broken in
You need a crime reference number from the police to give to your insurers.

Check the small print of your insurance policy to see what is covered and anything which may void or limit any claim.

I stayed over in someone's house once after a party, slept alone in the lounge on an airbed and someone came in and took two handbags from by me from next to me while I was sleeping.

My mobile insurers gave me a very hard time and initially said I couldn't claim as I couldn't give a guarantee as to whether the back door we assume they came in by was locked and as there was no forced entry.
So are you saying that your partner left the door open?
Question Author
Yeah my partner left the door open because he was in the house. We have a crime ref number and have given it to the insurers. Just have to wait now. They have still come into our property and stolen from us and taken our car so hopefully they will cover it
