I'd noticed she's not been on...so checked her profile. "User inactive"...I'm very disappointed to see this, had no idea.

My understanding is that "user inactive" is not the same as "suspended" -- so I am not sure that this post should be removed.

That technicality aside... anyone have any idea what prompted this?

As I understand it, user inactive is only done by the ABer...ie...they quit the site.

It doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve quit. They may just want to indicate their absence for a prolonged period.

Zacs - it does mean you have quit as it is very difficult if ever to get back in again using your user name. You can achieve same thing by logging out.

You generally can't reinstate though except I believe in exceptional circumstances via the Ed. Those who do have to re-register with a new name to return.

She is by no means the only one to go U/I with no explanation and no clues from latest posts to help. I think of our Canadian friend Stewey who suddenly went U/I for whatever reason, which was not apparent from his posts.

Stewey shows as active but last acitivity 4 years ago. For whatever reason he rejoined as Stuey but has been U/I for 2 years.
