There are still some honest people about. Well done him. Hope there wasn't too much damage.
And the question is ?

Last time someone hit my parked car they left a mobile number that was never on the network; may they rot in hell.

What happened to my question?

It was there!!! This happened yesterday as well.

OK so...

Do I have to go with the lowest quote?

I really don't mind where it gets done or TBH if it is the cheapest but if I don't like the 'look' of the garage he has recommended etc do I have to go with his preferred garage?

He just goes to prove there are descent people out there. He could so easily just driven off because there are no cameras in that area.

The front number plate was ripped off which is only about £20 worth of damage but there was a lovely set of scratches along the front bumper and my garage said it would cost a bit more than some cars to put right because my little car has a surprisingly large front bumper.
Presumably he has insurance and they'll pay for the damage. I'm sure you don't have to go where the guy tells you to go to get it fixed. Leave it all to the insurers. That's what you pay them for.
If the damage is minor he may prefer to pay himself so may not want to go through insurers. Is he local to you and can you make enquiries as to the garage workshop. If you preferred somewhere different say so. He sounds decent, can you talk to him about any concerns you have.
Question Author
I don't know where he lives but my garage and his is only about 2 miles apart.

We were at the same event where his child was performing with a local youth band so he must be near to me.

I think he prefers not to go through the insurance company and I don't want to go to the an expensive place just to 'make him pay' because he seems reasonable and was after all honest enough to own up.

I'm off to the garage now so will see what. His one is like.
I was told that insurance would not pay for damage in a car park, not an on the public road incident.
You were told wrongly zebo. You have the right to sue anyone for damages if they are negligent. If they are not insured they are still liable.
bad luck cassa -you'renot having much luck this week

hope chrissie is better ( tha is I hope it gets better over Christmas )

PS you dont live in Cumbria do you ?
Question Author
Hi,

The bloke is being really good about it. I get a replacement number plate today and the bumper sorted on 4th Jan. Considering he could have just driven off I think I am lucky
