What were your favourite subjects at school? What did you excel at, and which subjects did you hate with a passion?

I loved:

Art and Design (best in class)
History (fancied the teacher)
Cookery (luck a duck to water....)

Y tú?

Did you do textiles at school? I loved textiles. I remember 2 lads took that as Options, just so they could sit in the class with the girls....
I love geograpy and history!

My worst subject which I hated with a vengeance was maths!!!!!

I hate maths, even though I was very good at it. I deliberately flunked my one test so that I could go down a class. Talk about "out of the frying pan, into the fire..."

We had 2 maths teachers, and they were both stir crazy.
I liked and was good at English Language & Lit, Human Biology and Art & Design.

Hated, and was absolutely rubbish at, Maths.
Excelled in Art, enjoyed Biology, Geography, English Language, French...

Hated (and completely useless at) Physics, Chemistry and Maths...
Oh, and I was in the tennis and swimming teams.
Hated hocky & cross country & gym (one of the PE teachers was a middle-aged Sappho & was always leering at us in our navy gym knickers...)
Loved ... English Lit., English Language, PE

Hated ... Chemistry, Home Economics, Needlework (at a girls' school, the only time you were going to get a pr!ck in your fingers)

Seems we are all united in our hatred of maths...

Don't all female PE teachers get called lesbians? Ours was called Miss Baty and she had a basin haircut, so we called her, Basin Baty, which was very kind of us...
Mine was an all-girls's school too JJ - boy was that a wrong idea. No boys around ensured we were all obsessed with them (cos we weren't in close quarters with them so very quickly got to know they were mostly kn0bs....)
I don't think any of our sports staff were botty watchers.
I liked

Maths (pure and applied, hated stats)
physics
Chemistry
Swimming
design and engineering

Hated

English
History
Geography
I disagree, Sals.

I loved being at a girls' school. I loved the camraderie.

I loved the little routines of chapel assemblies every day ...

"Good morning, girls."

"Good morning, Headmistress. Good morning staff."

I would say that I loved boarding, but it's a bit early for "girls' dormitory" things.

I loved the fact that we could get really, really rowdy, without worrying about keeping up appearances for any boys.

I'm totally in favour of single sex education.

Not that I have children, so nobody gives a hoot what I think !! LOL
Actually, you were right Jj in every other aspect - it made us obsessed with boys cos there weren't any around, however the camaraderie, girly stuff, not having to bother about preening or posing - that was all good.

I'm not against single sex education - just think there are pros and cons for both sorts.
Loved: Black bra's under white shirts, short skirts, slaggy girls, Miss Bintley!
Hated: Bigger boys
Loved Engish, Drama, Music and Science.

Hated Maths, Business Technology & Art (the latter just because I can't draw).

And I also hated being at an all girls school. Fortunately I had a lot of male friends but a massive group of women does not tend to bring out their nicer personality traits in my experience
to be honest, I'm sure I did better academically-wise than if there had been lads around to distract us.
