Oh my god I have an interview tomorrow for a head housekeeper. I am already nervous. What do I wear? I threw out my anne summers maids outfit lol. I am well trained in cleaning now having been off 8 weeks, having a new house and nothing to do.

Do what my mum always says, and wear clothes that are one better than you would wear for the job.

Unlucky about throwing the dress away, these things happen.

If you're the best person for the job, you will get the job, you just have to convince yourself and the employer that that person is you.

At a local hall 4get?. Not 'O' is it. Somehow I never thought of you as a head housekeeper. I keep thinking of Mrs Danvers from 'Rebecca'

So this is how you should look tomorrow!

4get you need to let them know you put great store by attention to detail and that you have experience of organising people to complete a task efficiently and to schedule. You must alsoi be aware of COSHH and other H & S issues and let them know you are consious o the tight budgets needed to run a successful cleaning operation,
Question Author
thank you dot
Can't give you any tips but good luck tomorrow 4get.
Question Author
cheers jan
you should wear a smart business suit for any interview, if you can turn yourself out spot on it gives the right impression, also research the room size of the hotel and ask the question about using the cleaning team for special occasions like weddings, that way they will grasp that you have an idea of the flexibility needed in the industry
Question Author
I've raided mums cupboards and have black trousers, black heeled shoes, and a fitted shirt with embroidered flowers on it, also have a suit jacket
I've nothing to add, apart from I wish you lots of luck xx
Don't forget to mention you have experience at doing staff rotas and controling absenteeism, as well as understanding the need to keep within the wage budget, i assume that will be one of your biggest challenges.
Question Author
You seem to know alot on this dot
It's exactly the same theory in retail , working to deadlines on next to no staffing budget with staff that ring in at 8.50 saying they're not strating at 9 when you had planned a busy work schedule, then you've to still get the job done to the saem deadline but work twice as hard yourself and still run the operation. bloody stressful i you aren't bang on with your costs and planning
