Lottie - I never was a Pizza person - bought a few and went Urgh, either bought in a supermarket or from takeaways.
However where I live we have loads of Pizza places but there is one I love is Pizza Guyz (something like that) - beautiful pizza just with that lovely crispy dough. I wouldn't buy any of the others. Welcome back LoftyLottie.
I make my own, about every couple of months, I like pizza but even using reduced fat cheese and a wholemeal base they have to be an occasional treat. Dave loved the pizza hut buffet, I had a slice and then piled on the salad.
I never/rarely* eat pizza as the wheat is not my friend...and I'm half Italian.
* I did have pizza a few months ago when out with daughter and her partner. It was thin, crispy and not stodgy.
A well made pizza can be as healthy as any other bread based meal such as sandwiches. Just don't serve with chips or garlic bread...I mean, WHY ??
My question is...for those who don't eat pizza but do eat cheese on toast...why not? Just curious.
when we first discovered my daughter was a fussy eater, pizza was a god send - carbs, vegetables, fruit and protein in one meal. When i was doing diet club, you could count treats and have up to 20 "SYNS" a day. This did include takeaway and eating out type food by having small portions/ choosing carefully from the menu and my diet leader said that pizza shops were the only shop that the only thing off the menu you could have was diet coke.
