Whats the situation if you have had a breakdown and need time off work for mental health reasons. I have no holidays left and am not entitled to any sick leave anymore. My Doctor wants to sign me off. Will I get sacked. Please answer asap

At the end of the day, if you are unwell and you cannot work you will be signed off and you will not be at work. Because your company has made provision to pay its employers when they are sick but you have used these days up, you will normally be able to receive statutory sick pay, which is about �70 odd per week. Your company may chose to review the situation regarding your periods of absence, particularly if there have been several of them over a period of time and it might decide to terminate your employment on the grounds of capability. There is no hard and fast rule on this - its for the company to decide together with its advisors.
If you have run out of paid sick leave, you can be paid statutory sick pay which, and buildersmate says, is �72.55 assuming you work 5 days a week.

You have to be off for more than three days continously and the first three days of absence are referred to as waiting days and are not paid. After that SSP kicks in.

You can self certificate for up to 1 week. After that point, you have to submit your GP's note to your employer to be eligable for SSP payments.
Could you be sacked? If your absence is long term or frequent enough then it's possible your employer will eventually decide that you are no longer fulfilling your side of your contract and that could happen, yes. If you have used up all your company sick pay and now need more time off, then it is a possibility as that's a lot of sickness. However they would need to hold several meetings with you first and would need to look at your medical records (for which you would need to give your permission) so this wouldn't happen overnight.
