But plagiarism-detection software is being used by most good education establishments so I would suggest -don't- cut and paste but read, inwardly digest, have a full night's sleep and then write a version in your own words, without referring back to your reading material until after you have finished this first draft. Re-read the source material and go back to correct any mistakes, fill in missing pieces and so on.
The hazard of copying and pasting material found online is that the content falls into two categories - single author opinion pieces or multi-author wikipedia articles. Both can be well written, polished and tightly edited pieces but single author pieces contain quirks of writing style and wiki articles contain quirks of editing and multi authorship which are a dead giveaway and don't even require software to spot.
