What's involved in becoming a nurse? I would very much like to become one, yet I don't know where to start!

Hi Bexxie82

There's a couple of places you can go to in the UK. You might find this site helpful.

I myself are thinking of doing a degree in nursing next year!
All the best!
see if your local hospital does a course and if they have open days, then there is the nmas site that you apply through.
i am a second year nursing student and for the most i am still enjoying it.
http://www.studentnurse.org.uk/forum/
is a great site to ask questions and get info.
There's a great deal of information available, by clicking the link for the type of nursing you're interested in, here:

Contact colleges/universities that run courses for nursing. I'm told the courses are mostly based on hands-on activities and spend most of it in hospitals learning.

Great career to go in to!

Good Luck
have you worked as a care assistant at all?? if not i would strongly suggest you try it. apply to nursing homes and homecare agencies etc and most employers 'should be all now' will put you in to do your NVQ 2 in health and social care. you can continue to go on and do level 3 which will with lets say a C in GCSE english gain you entry to some universities. Being a carer if you have never done it before is a bit daunting at first but as you get used to it it becomes alot easier. its rewarding interesting and good fun sometimes.
