Can I change cookie information?

If cookies are just small text files, can I change the information in them? Just to have a little fun with the site that deposited it there (but not Answerbank, of course).

In theory, yes. Provided you understood the format and nature of the information contained therein. Chances are you would end up with a cookie containing gibberish and it would be replaced the next time you visited that website.

I don't know anything about cookies and how they work (I can barely keep my user-friendly PC running), but it's nice to know the possibility exists. There are a few sites I know of that deserve some misinformation. Thanks for the answer rekstout.
