Less Lumination

Recently my flourescant light bulbs became dull in a certain light fixture. They work fine in others. Obviously there is a problem with the light but what could it be?

You don't say what the light fitting is or how they are being used. I can only think you may have plastic diffusers or covers that are not as clear as they once were and are blocking the light.

It may well be a supply problem and not the lamp, particularly if they work well in other fittings. It may also be the booster (that's the small tubular fitting on the side of the light fitting that excites the tube when the switch is turned on) These can be replaced easily

Compact flourescent lamps don't like to get very hot, it effects the output and especially it shortens the life, is the affected fitting an enclosed one with no ventillation?
