Womens' Sport And The Bbc

The BBC, bless em', are trying their hardest to pretend that anyone's interested in womens' sport, when actually it lacks the skill and intensity of mens' sports and is poorly supported. I watched a small amount of the last womens cricket in Oz and there was about 50 people watching in a small provincial ground somewhere in the outback. But what it all boils down to is something called equality. Broadcasters have to pretend to be interested in womens sport or they might not get a broadcasting licence off the government. And don't ask what those Scottish women presenters are talking about on Sky Sports News. If I didn't have the text on I wouldn't have a clue what they're on about.

10C....I really enjoy lots of sport played by women.....especially cricket...

What is it you don't like about women that wants you to deny me that pleasure?

You don't think women should be sports people? You don't like women? You tolerate women but only in certain roles?

Give women's sport decent funding which would negate the need for semi professional participation, watch how quickly standards improve. Until young women can see a decent return on their investment, nothing will change.

Well they almost entirely killed Women's Football back in 1921 when the crowds were enormous - let's not force things off the screen , let's get the youngsters interested and involved.

Why do you want to deny me the pleasure of watching a sport I like on television?

Simple. TV shows more women's sport, more sponsors invest more money. More young women take up sport as there is a good living to be made. Standards improve so TV shows more women's sport. On and on ad finitum.

I must admit I quite like womens soccer, they get on with the game rather than pretending to be injured and arguing with the ref all the time.

I don't like watching men's sport and I have to pay towards that. Probably much more goes to them as well.

We tried watching the women playing cricket once but never again. They screamed and shouted at each other after every single ball was bowled. It was awful. I can understand them trying to urge each other on but it was ridiculous. I particularly remember the New Zealand wicket keeper who just never shut up. She screeched and shouted at her team members after every ball and it went on for the whole innings. I'd be amazed if she had any voice left by the end of the day. Have tried watching other matches but they all appear to be the same. Never heard the men shouting at each other the way they did.

Happy to say that after 12 yrs of training my good friend Sonja has been awarded an American Kenpo Karate 1st Degree Black Belt. First in Scotland I believe - now that's dedication. This sport never gets any coverage.

There are other sports too, which don't get coverage they deserve and as there are so many sports channels (sky, bt, etc, etc) you'd think one of them could/would pick up some of the lesser known ones.
