I's rewrite some of those for myself.

Depends who thought them up.
Yep, sounds about right. That's what I try do, except I don't have a paper boy. I tipped the window cleaner.

Mamya, my thoughts are my own
Faf from me to censure you
True true, we're all different but I thought your title referred to 'The British' if they're your own that's fine.

Me, I talk to everyone, have learned the very hard way to ask for help. Am well behaved in a queue though and calm is my middle name.

As for despair - my Mother taught us Nil Desperandum from knee high.

I'd better start again , I took Daisy's post to mean - these are British Values.

I have obviously misunderstood and I apologise and wish I hadn't answered.

I'm actually not sure what I have done wrong - pax always Daisy of course.

I can report my replies if you wish.

I told an American couple, who I met in a Hotel in Town, that it was customary to say Good Morning to everybody, when on the Tube.

Never found out if they tried it or not, but they were terribly glad to be informed that this is exactly what us Brits actually did !
Is the English way....

Dark side of the Moon......
more advice for tourists:-

When encountering an English person who is attempting to walk through the same gap as you they will stop and say “after you”. This action may be accompanied by exaggerated hand gestures and / or bowing. This does not mean you can continue. That would be the height of rudeness and could lead to a fight or even worse, a loud ahem.

You must halt immediately and say “after you”. The English person will then say “oh no, after you”. Do not go. It’s an etiquette trap. The English spend all their lives practicing this. They will always win.
I thought this list was jokey
I liked the Keep Calm and despair
much better than keep calm and dont despair ....

what about the theme of this thread ?

talk loudly of having given possible offence when your remarks are so anodyne no offence could possibly be taken .....
unequalled
