Please can anyone tell me how to polish silver like the jewellers. I noticed recently in a jeweller's that the new silver items had a lovely lustre and no tiny scratch marks at all. I clean my few items but they always have a very fine layer of marks on them and they are never lustrous like the Jewellers. How do they do it?? Many thanks, Bramleyboy

They probably use 'Jewellers Rouge' and a buffing wheel with a VERY soft wheel (Sable?).

Thank you Zacs-Master, do you know where I can get a soft sable wheel from?

they probably use a silver dip, so very little buffing is needed
Goddards siver cloth available in my Sainsbury's is a good medium and can be used with a pot of silver dip also available in Sainsbury stores.
yep, i second the goddards silver cloth, can be used on its own too when the jewellery just needs a quick boost, rather than a deeper clean
