Can anyone recommend a spray or lacquer for above to prevent tarnishing. Would standard hair spray do the job?
Not sure what category so opted here initially.

It's traces of sulphur compounds in the air that causes silver to blacken so any clear protective lacquer would do the job....as long as you don't intend to use the spoons, of course.
I wouldn't use hairspray though.
I use anti tarnish strips which are pretty effective.

Certainly worth a try...and try to keep the cleaned spoons away from air contact...I'd sandwich them between two sheets of cling film or similar.

ginge They are really more ornamental than for use. Have around a dozen different ones at the moment so want to display them rather than they sit in a drawer which they do at they the moment. Mrs Tony is always on the look out for them at car boots.

Barmaid do the strips you use protect as well as polish?

This is what I use Tony. My silver looks great for weeks with these. Altho it is in a cabinet.
