All that training for the mums' egg & spoon race too :)
I'd mind, I've got the day off on Wednesday and the Olympic Torch is coming to Dover! 16000 people on the seafront Don't Want Rain!
16000 on your petition potentially, Boxy - are we going to see you run topless along the Olympic torch bearer with a banner saying "Hands of Dover, or you will be done over!"
boxpops.
whatever the weather is like on wednesday, enjoy the moment.
it hammered down all day when i was involved in the relay in my town ,, it did not dampen my spirits..a day to remember.
Yes actually, sher. I'm pencilled in for Shopping in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (The weather forecast is already looking horrendous).

Oh, ok then. I will just have to go to the 'opening ceremony' (it's Olympic themed) and I will then go back for the last bit (should make the most of it, only have to go to another 7 of them over the coming years).
Been out earlier to see Robin Cousins running the Torch through Hove this evening. Weather was lousy but loads of people out and cheering. On its way to you boxy.
Sorry sher, your thread has been hijacked:-(
sherrardk.

the way things have been going - the chances of rain wednesday morning are very high.
hope your wish comes true for you.
let the Apotheosis Church pray for sun for you, Sister.....

I don't mind normally, but a 5 hour sports day is a bit much.
Why do you want rain on Wednesday morning?
You'll enjoy it boxie. Just happened to meet the torch while walking into town and the sheer enthusiasm won me over . Fingers crossed for you sherrardk. Went to watch my nieces run at the school sports day. Nowhere to hide, no beer tent to sneak in to. And wooden benches to sit on. Next time hip flask and cushion.
I don't mind at all sherrard, our gardener brought us a load of plants from his garden as he is moving house, and we have a stretch of ground where some bushes used to be at the bottom of the garden which needs filling up with flowers, Thing is it hasn't rained since he put them in and I'm having to water them every night.
I have loads of sympathy go you Sherrardk. I sat through 9 years of sports days, school carol services and the choirs when she was in it. I was never so glad when they both left primary schools and you no longer needed to attend.
No rain on Wednesday please. Im going to Yarmouth for the day. Ive never been there before.

Ok, just a bit of rain here. But please, a FIVE hour sports day!
You can have some rain Sherrard, I'm sure it's meant to rain here on Wednesday I'll send some down.
I can think of nothing worse than a 5 hour school sports day (unless it's a 6 hour one!) Thankfully I managed to miss just about all of my daughter's sports days - for which she was truly thankful!
I thought 'sports days' were politically incorrect now - surely we can't have 'winners' and 'losers'.

There will be a "multi-ability learning through playing nicely" day instead. For 5 hours ... ;+()
I hated Sports Days when I was at school, I couldn't run for toffee - me and my friend always hid in the school loo!
Some parents would love to spend 5 hours at their kids sports day but can't because they have to work

Some unfortunate kids don't have anyone supporting them - think yourself lucky you can actually be there
