The previous owners of our home put picture tiles in the bathroom. We don't share the same taste so wish to remove the pictures leaving the tiles white. Does anyone have any idea of how to do this? The pictures aren't transfers. Would paint stripper work or would a better idea be to sand them down and paint white tile paint over? Thanks.

The picture is probably in the tile so paint stripper won't work. If there are not not many why not (carefully) take the individual tiles out and replace with plain white. Painting tiles rarely looks nice.

Unfortunately, there are a number of picture tiles, including about eight together in a prominent position over the bath! Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

It's quite difficult to sand a tile down, but you might as well paint over them. I painted my kitchn tiles from '70s terracotta print to white, and they look fine, until you come up close and can see brushmarks ;)
We painted our bathroom tiles white and they look really good, covered over the flowery pictures nicely.
Just finished painting our bathroom tiles, many of them with a flowery picture. First clean tiles to remove any dirt, then paint on tile undercoat, followed by the top coat. Ronseal do a good tile paint.
