Does anyone have any good tips for keeping school polo shirts white, I always use a bio powder but after a while they end up greying.

Also any ideas on getting food stains out? ie bolognese,

Thanks.

Spray Vanish on the stain before washing it. Can't do much once it is washed except soak the area in bleach if the garment is white.

I know this sounds obvious but only wash whites with white....and be strict with this rule - no popping in creams or white with colours. I only ever wash pure white with other pure whites and they glow :-)

My wife turns my black t shirts inside out before washing them. This appears to slow down the bleaching process which turns them grey over time.
I use an oxygen bleach stuff to keep my white towels white
Also, there's nothing like hanging clothes out in the sun to get rid of some stains, especially orange juice.
To brighten whites, and if you dont have hard water, use half a cup of borax or washing soda to a medium load of laundry.
The minerals in hard water can grey whites. If you have very hard water, add half cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle and as said before only wash white with white.Never other colurs no matter how pale they are. You can get some stuff from Dylon in which you can soak whites to brighten them up.It is principally for lingerie but should work on other polycotton stuff too. It's called Dylon fabric care Lingerie Whitener.
Another good product is Glo care "Keep it White" a sheet which you pop in the machine with the whites. All available at Wikinsons or good hardware stores.
My wife swears by washing whites with something blue like a sock. She reckons bluey-white looks more white than white.
i wet the garment and rub table salt on the stain and ad a little of salt into your wash... hope it works for you
