Last month's thread is here.

We have made it to December. Christmas is just around the corner, but the frost has already arrived.

What measures will you take to ensure that your garden or allotment survives the winter?

I don't expect any garden problems that might be caused by winter. My wife tried to plant some bedding plants, a couple of days ago, and found that the soil in the pots was frozen solid, so some hard work there. Otherwise, it's just a case of sweep up the fallen leaves and lop a few branches off the few trees that we have.
I don't do much. I have got rolls of thermal fleece on standby but didn't use any last year and everything survived. I might move my potted grape vines into the tortoise shed as that is kept above freezing.
I'm avoiding raking up leaves around the garden perimeter to help the hedgehogs that may by hibernating and are best left undisturbed.
I leave all my leaves except on paths and have put piles of rotting wood and prunings in corners of the garden. Even though I have got several trees of my own and am surrounded by other people's trees, leaving them to lie on the grass doesn't seem to affect it.
