Further to a question I raised concerning the above item I eventually had to buy a new one,but you could get more heat from a battery operated torch,so I returned it for a replacement which was just as bad so I asked for my money back, and they said I could keep it. My question is what could be wrong with a 2Kw heater whose fan works ok but gives out so little heat? Thanks

If nowhere near 2kW of heat is being given off, it is likely that the heating element within the device is not being fully energised for some reason.

At 2kW, with your hands placed directly in front of the air outlet (partially blocking the airflow) should result in your hands becoming uncomfortably hot – and suffer burns if left in position.

Check the enclosure for a resettable thermal device (normally a small red button) which may have tripped – otherwise consider purchasing a replacement of a reputable brand.
I once had such a heater, then I found that the temperature depended on how many times I pulled the string, I think I had to pull it 3 times for very hot, just once was only warm. The instructions would advise you on this if this is the case.
Have you read the instructions?

I assume that the pull cord controls the thermostat
I get one pull cold air 2 pulls slightly warm 3 pulls no difference.
The instructions gives no indication as to what may be the trouble.
I can see no button to adjust any thermal device(see no 1)
Maybe a faulty switch ?
If it were me I'd be tempted to open up the thing and take a gander inside.
But if you do be careful. Avoid plugging it in when the insides can be touched.

Hi OG this post started from an earlier one where I needed to get inside the old unit to replace the pull cord but it was secured by tamper proof screws. So the same applies to the new one,no can do!!As for the switch idea, the fan goes and the heater side of it is trying to work but in a poor way.Thanks.
