How soon after using liquid moss killer on lawn is it safe to rake the black dead moss?

I have raked it out pretty much as soon as it's turned Black.

^^ Same here, followed by Miracle-Gro Patch Magic on the 'bald' patches.

Are you supposed to rake it out ? I used dry lawn feed / weed killer on mine; moss turned brown. I just left it to return to the soil as plant food.

Thanks fellow gardeners - I must now find a volunteer to do the raking out!
