I trimmed it back (lightly) after flowering, does it need pruning/trimming now and if so how far down do I prune to ?

Don't know about your variety but mine will be chopped back to within an inch of it's life in the next couple of weeks. It always bounces back very quickly.
Agree with RR, prune it hard back.
I agree, it can be pruned back quite severely now, as it flowers from new wood.
When its finished flowering later in the summer, I'd run the shears over to dead head it and with a little luck you should be blessed with a second bloom.
Yes, I cut my two back very hard last Monday. They get the same every year and are very strong plants.
