if your neighbour asked you to pop in an feed their cat/water plants while they were away for a few days would you have a look round their house or just do the task and leave immediately?

Do as I would be done by....do the task and leave

me 2, i am afraid i would let guilt get to me if i snooped!

I wouldn't go upstairs, snooping round thier bedrooms, things like that, but if I hadn't been in the house before, I would have a look round. I mean, I wouldn't start going through their drawers and things like that, but i'd have to have a quick peep around!! My bad?!
i would just do the job and get out..you may need that favour returning and you wouldnt like to think they were looking round your house!! see it works both ways..
If the house wasnt alarmed I would check for any signs of people trying to get in or being round the back of the house but i wouldnt nosy just for the sake of it

Our neighbours do ask us to do these things. We simply do the tasks and leave. Never look about.

I just did this for my neighbour (dog instead of cat) - didn't look round

I've just been looking after my neighbour's cat. I didn't snoop around, but I had a look at the pictures on the walls/books in the bookcase etc whilst I was waiting for the cat to eat his grub.

What amazed me is that my neighbour has a noticeboard in her hallway and on it are written all her account numbers, usernames and passwords etc! Lucky I haven't got a criminal mind really.

I ran my own in-you-home pet-sitting business for a bit and looked after complete strangers pets' in their home once and a while.

I am surprised that you all have said you don't look around at all! I have been known to look around at the shelves/pictures on the wall/the way the house is decorated and that sort of thing a lot!

I mean, if they invited you in their house, there shouldn't be anything left totally out in the open that they wouldn't want you to see...and in that case, the only other place I may snoop (if I'm waiting with the pets and getting bored) might be the refridgerator or kitchen cabinets...just lookin at the food they have and such...

I guess I'm just naughty!   ;0)

I would snoop around and try on their underwear and take photos of me doing it on their camera.

Only kidding, I would simply do the task and leave. If I was house-sitting though I would make myself a little more at home and hope that I didn't stumble across anything too embarrassing!!
when I have looked after our neighbours cat I had a little look round, not in drawers or at letters or anything (not like their son when he looked after our rabbit.....) but I had a look at pictures on the wall and things
