Just a quick question: As above, is it ok (I mean safe) to mow and strim dampish grass?
I'm sure it is, but I just wanted to make sure there's no chance of electrocution.

Thanks.

If it's only damp and not soaking wet you'll be fine, however when the grass is damp it tends to tear and not cut.
I would say it is Ok as long as you use a circuit breaker cut out plug at ALL times even if the grass is dry.
It depends in where the plug is on the end of the cable. If the plug is dry and indoors and plugged into an RCD then yes its safe provided you don't cut the cable. even safer with rechargeable tools or petrol ones!
And it clogs up your parts...
Perfectly safe but you'll get clogged up more often and end up with a crappy cut.
Sounds painful Shoota!

It's not *that* damp, just a little.
The plug is going indoors, and will be perfectly dry.

Many thanks! :-)
No risk of electrocution if you use petrol driven machinery :)

If electric, use a RCD, although the increased risk from damp grass is virtually non-existent.

It's pretty crappy as it is! I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation :)

If you're that worried, get on your hands and knees with a razor blade...
Keep your powder and your parts dry!!
If you are refering to the mower or strimmer, Baby_Sham, then yes, perfectly safe. What you would need to be carefull of is if you are using an extension lead that the plug\socket doesn't get wet as that could short out.
You could use the army method ( for those on a charge ), nail scissors.
Do you have access to a sheep?
^ ... or a Vegetarian?
:O)
Grass is fine here but the daisies are just playing hard to get
I thought sheep were vegetarians!

Back in now, and thanks for the chuckle :D

Next time I'll listen to the advice given. I've made a right pigs ear of it. Some of the grass 'ripped' out and there's now patches of mud.

LOL, don't worry it will grow back eventually.
