My fuschias leaves have dark red marks on them. If it was any other plant I would say it was rust but I dont think they suffer from it. Any one got any ideas and how to elinminate it for next year. (They are quite o;ld plants)

Fuchsias do suffer from rust but it is not a dark red colour but quite a lightish brown colour and often appears underneath the leaves. It does not sound like rust so have no real idea. Could you post a picture on here so we could see the leaves?
Fuchsia rust can be anything from dark red, orangy yellow to light brown.
I had an attack on several of my Fuchsias last year.
The best way to get rid of it is to remove all infected leaves and burn them as it can spread very quickly. Or place them in the bin in a sealed bag. It spreads through the air as it's a fungus/mould.
Believe it or not, ordinary Listerene Mouthwash, diluted by one part Listerene to ten parts water and spayed on your plants can be effective according to the Fuchsia society.
