What is true love?

True love is someone driving you hundred of miles home through the worst road conditions imaginable, with visibility at next to nothing, because he knows you want to get to work the next day and there isn't a single train in Britain in operation.

Being their for your loved one when all hope is lost, no chance of recovery from an illness, and knowing that no matter what you will comfort them to the end. Seeing your child hurt, pick them up and tell them it will be all right, and if you had to, defend them with your life. Too many examples, may seem strange to some, but thats how i feel.

are you referring to say loving a woman or a man, for that moment, a brief time but it goes away, im not sure. Its just your post seemed rather blunt.

em....my answer tries to define what people mean by "love" and"true love" and indeed as trigger has said.....what is the difference?
My answer tries to embrace all definitions:

I LOVE my wife.
I LOVE my mistress
I LOVE to watch TV
I LOVE to walk in the Dales.
I LOVE my animals.

My answer was to give a definition which covered all the above examples.

if you have wife and mistress then you love neither, just my opinion. perhaps you are joshing.. who knows.
