A few people on here were reporting problems with their robinia frisias earlier this year & I wondered how you went on, did they recover? Is it now happening to others too?
I'm absolutely gutted to see my tree has developed some brown spots & curling mainly on it's lower branches & more on the side that gets the east wind. Seems that, according to
this information I've found (in particular see 11th post) it's a problem made caused/worse by this awful weather we've had last yr & this (up to now).

Hello desolate of Derby.
Most of the Robina trees here in Bristol seem to be affected with the same virus and show no sign of recovery.
It's a shame as they are one of the lovliest garden trees.

Thanks for your reply marki, not looking very hopeful is it?
Years before I was into gardening I saw a robinia in a garden centre & told myself that one day I'd have one...and I did. It's been in my garden 15 yrs now & I'll be so very sad if I lose it.
I was conned when I bought my Robinia. Asked for the one that turns yellow and was sold the one that flowers. Mine was very late developing foliage this year, but I've just been to inspect it and there is no sign of brown spots or curling. In fact there is a lot of new growth.
My sympathy is with you and I hope it's a passing phase.

Hi Sir Alec...yes it seems to be the golden ones (frisias) that are affected. I have to say that she (sorry I always refer to my robinia as a she, hehe) has flowered two or three times in her lifetime. Obviously the flowers, being white, aren't easy to spot, but smell lovely.
Maybe she'll survive, she's been a tough old boot up to now & survived blowing over in gales a few years after planting. I hauled her back up tied her down with rope & hoped for the best. And last year I had to have a big pruning job done when a large branch split, again in gales, & she grew back better than ever. I'll give her a good talking to. Fingers crossed!

I do actually feel like I've been on a bonfire & me embers crushed to dust, haha. Warm but cloudy, funny atmosphere...if we get a storm don't expect to take cover in big brick house, just make sure you're pegged down tight.
Chas has been clipped at last, he's half the man he was, & is sleeping it off. You can have his fur to stuff your matresses, haha.

So sorry woofy, my puta had a funny fit...first mail didn't go & then it sent Vin's to his old address even tho I'd deleted it. :o/

Now look here ,my totem poles are famed throughout Norfolk .They're the only things round this neck of the woods that are lit up at night :)
I must be the only person on the road with a light on in the small hours sometimes .
