I have a south facing sheltered corner in my garden, which was full of wallflowers but I have taken them out as it's in a very prominent position and I want something more interesting all year round. Anybody got any suggestions for a reasonably fast growing shrub, one that grows quite big (4 to 5 foot), and preferably not a Hebe as I always seem to end up with them!

Hi Kags, How about a Hibiscus, it should do well in a sunny sheltered spot!
I'd go for Hibiscus Syriacus 'Blue Bird'
