Can someone tell me the official name of this type of bolt please, I'm sure it must have one.
here
Where have all the old fashioned hardware stores gone?...the nice man in a brown overall & a pencil behind his ear would know what I meant by 'twisty, bolty thingy' (even if it hadn't been invented).

Hi All would you like the good news or the bad. I'll start with the good. After 3 appointments this week I was walking home from the last one on top of the world cos they all were good news and now the bad news I tripped over and fell flat on my face literally and ended up in A&E after a ride in an ambulance,so I'm not a happy bunny. I have a face like the back end of a bus. Anyway I've just had my dinner and trying to perk myself up. My two sisters who looked after me afterwards couldn't stop laughiong. Bless em!!

Any way that's my tale of woe for today. I can see the funny side now but I've been advised not to smile by the Doc to give the abrasion time to heal up as it is just above my lip and may leave a scar.

Bye for now x
Neti, No my chair isn\'t helping the sciatica. :o(.

To make matters worse, I thought I would take the dog for a short walk up the field to the wood behind my house. We have March Harriers there and they put on a splendid display for me this afternoon. Well, trust me - my leg (the one causing me problems) just gave way and I ended up sprawled out in the field, with the dog charging round me on here extended lead anxious to catch a rabbit or two. I think I have bruised my ribs and now have a sore hip. Oh, well in for a penny in for a pound.

Still haven\'t had enough rain to make any difference to the baked hard soil - which I came into contact with this afternoon.

I should have stayed at home. Now have to make some soup - after I have taken yet more pain killers.

See you soon.

ps The sciatica seems a bit better!!!!!
Oh my God Jude, you weren't there when I started my tale of woe. What a pair we have been this afternoon. Poor old you. Take care of yourself. I am seriously wondering whether I have displaced a couple of ribs, which I am prone to doing.

What a couple of silly billy biddies we are!!!

Glad your results are all good.

Blooming ek Lotty what a pair hope you're not too badly hurt. We'll probably feel it more tomorrow when the bruises come out You take care. They say things come in 3s hope another Biddy doesn't go their length!!
Don't tempt fate Jude!!

Vin don't go out on the beer tonight - stay in just in case!!!!
well, I finally got to see my GP yesterday - not mine, really - as usual it was some locum I'd never seen before, a Bulgarian lady I think. She taold me to give her my hand so she could take my blood pressure. When I did so, in some puzzlement, she shook her head and pointed to my arm... well now, wouldn't it be nice to have a GP who knew the difference between a hand an an arm?

Anyway, she's given me some antibiiotics for the cough so I'll just have to wait and see...

On the good news side, I spent the evening at the House of Commons, at a little do in the big marquee alongside the river bank, very nice though it was pouring with rain outside. It was also pouring champagne but I couldn't because of the antibiotics, worse luck. However, in the big prize draw I won a couple of nights in a luxury spa hotel in Monte Carlo with helicopters transfers and all, so that's cheered me up no end. Might do it for my birthday next year.

Also went to a wonderful exhibition at the V&A, full of gorgeous jewllery and wonderful paintings and robes and stuff...

Not open to the public yet but of course we maharanis can get in any time we want, just slip the curator a diamond as big as the Ritz.

Oh dear, just been reading about everyone's disastrous days. Should we all book a mass funeral, do you think, to save money, and nice recyclable cardboard coffins? (or cough-ins in my case). I do hope everyone's feeling better soon.
Oh jno, can I come with you. I need to go to a spa and Monte Carlo will do nicely. All my aches and pains are coming out.

Hope the antibiotics work quickly for you - silly doctor doesn't know her head from her bum!!! Let's hope she gave the the right tablets.
Hello Jno Hope the antibiotics work for you. You've had that cough long enough now haven't you. Lucky you winning the prize draw The last time I was in Monte Carlo was the year Maggie Thatcher won the election. I bet things have changed a bit since then. I still had a great time I hope you do when you go.
Evening folks

I've had problems with this machine which died on me earlier in the week but I've had my technician here this evening who has come to my rescue after I fed him a roast chicken dinner :)
Can't leave you all for five minutes without you're all falling about and injuring yourselves .Hope you all feel better soon .You'll have to take more water with it :)
Well done on your win Jno ,what a smashing thing to win .Lets hope the antibiotics clear the cough .We can't have you coughing in the casinos .
I took my leg to my long awaited appointment today to be told I have to have another scan on it after he had poked it about and measured it and put pen marks all over it .
.When that will be is anybodys guess .Another four months no doubt .
Still no rain to speak of at Shaneytowers. Couple of bits of drizzle that's done no good at all ,and everything is stil baked hard .No wonder you went down a wallop Lofty .
Time for herbally honey drink and bed .Look after those aches and pains girls and I hope things look brighter tomorrow .
Night all,sleep well xx
I wondered where you be Shaney!! I was about to alert the Norfolk police force!!

I fear I might have cracked a rib 'cos it hurts to breath as well as hurting when I move and making it impossible to put any strain on my right arm. So do I sit down and my sciatica really plays up, or I stand up and move around and my rib and side hurts? Decisions, decisions.

The only place I feel comfortable is on the bed and I just can't bear the thought of being on the bed all day.

Oh well, such is life.

good (murky) morning...
oh my... erm.... giddy aunt isn't really the best phrase here is it? What's happening to us?! I shouldn't have mentioned falling like dominoes.
Sorry to read about your nasty pains & tumbles Lottie & Jude, hope you're not too bruised or shaken this morning, the shock makes you feel horrible. If you fell on the fields here there'd be an impression in the mud & we could make statues, haha....no Vincent, we don't need one of those statues ta. :o)
On the upside - well done Jude with your good news & jno on your ab fab trip...I'll send you a fiver to put on number 6 for me...is there a 6? I know nothing about gambling in casinos.
It's been a long job with that leg shaney, wouldn't it be great if we could get these bloomin' problems sorted in one cycle of the moon...I predict that by the next new one (Oct 18th) we'll all feel like new biddies...be positive, just like I tried to be yesterday...thought I was going to be 'up all night with me hat on' again, my insides were doing some strange things, but thankfully, up to now, all is uneventful.

Can we all remain upright today please...I've taken precautions...

Going back to bed now with the cat and the radio (and probably two dogs as well). Have had a quick browse round AB. Seems a happier place these days and the trolls seem to have dwindled. Plus B&S is a better place to be!!

See you folks. Have a good weekend all. xx
Good moaning.

get better soon kip.(*_*)
Oh my giddy biddies! what are we coming too, and I was feeling so chipper, will now watch every step that I make!!

Daughter went back today with a suitcase bulging with household items and bedding and luckily the airline let her through although slightly overweight (the luggage not the girl). Then poor Mr N got stuck in a queue in the airport parking cos the machines weren't working - he was still there when I spoke to him, but I'm doing the cleaning etc now, and hopefully he's playing golf now.

Now, I'll say this only once, BIDDIES BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO AND TOUCH!!
definitely, neti, I am going to inflate my airbags before I drive anywhere

I got up! I was hungry!!! Now planning what else I can do standing up that doesn't need my right arm ;o)
Ohhh. know that feeling jno!!

Welll the Biddy curse has struck again, my daughter has been wandering around Barcelona with all her excess baggage for one and a half hours trying to get to her new apartment - she got the wrong bus, then walked in the wrong direction, she is well and truly fed-up and still isn't there yet!!!
........and I've just broken 2 digital cameras by mistake....damn and blast, am off to bed where hopefully nothing else can happen!!!!
