I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Just had a lovely hot bath and managed to wash hair, took phone with me in case I got stuck, put on some cuddly pj's and back in bed. Have put washing up away with one hand. Keep
Looking at the dirty washing and itching to do it but am resisting , think that will be tempting fate, and the thought of having to get it is again puts me off, there's not that much anyway. Have found an old sling and am wearing it, so much more comfortable.
Am watching Jeremy Kyle show, I can't believe it, do these people actually exist and the teeth, oh the teeth! I do not usually watch this rubbish but it's a change, makes me feel clean, tidy, and intellient. What an awful thing to say!
Hi folks
Not a bad day, nice and bright this morning .
Been to hairdressers, about time too .My brother took me and picked me up bless him and gave a basket of ironing to do ..bless him ..lol.
That all sounds very painful Neti ,what are we like .I hope the new mexico can offer you a better diagnosis. My leg's still sore and jabbing .I'm monitoring the situation and if it's no better by Friday I'm going to ask for referral to the clinic.Glad the knee is easier Woofy and hope Robinia feels better. We may get a day where we're all fighting fit yet !

Well good news here, I can now close my hand, I can't use it or put pressure on it but it's a start, it is also very hot!
So are you all glamorous now shaney?
That's good Neti but it being hot doesn't sound good .Try an ice pack on it.
Yes ,I look very glamorous, well as glam as you get at my age ..haha.I've had the back chopped in a bit more and the sides left longer .It's a Mary Portas haircut and I love it .Wish I had the nerve to go for her colour.
She's red isn't she? I'm also so glad I went for this sticky up almost crew cut, it does suit me but take a bit more looking after as it's been used laying flat and to one side for years the amount of sticky sprayie gluey stuff it takes ,!
Jo how is your neighbour with the car trouble, hope it has been sorted, poor woman/man/person!
I've not heard, neti. Very upsetting that people "know where you live".
Good morning folk. Am in village having a coffee before going to Mexico. Had to do the euro millions sunny and chilly.
Well new Mexico is sending me for bone density scan (WHEN MACHINE IS MENDED) Xray and blood and pee tests. Xray for spinal column and arm. Reckons it is artrosis what ever that is it is not arthritis. But no immediate relief oh and some magnesium tablets.
Good afternoon...is there anyone left standing in here? The weather's enough to knock you off your feet, it's dreadful, tearing gales and rain.
This virus is still dragging me down, I've little patience and concentration power for anything other than essentials. And now Jude is unwell again too and thoroughly fed up. It might not have been a bitter winter but it's been a very unhealthy one.January's never a good month for me...can't believe it's a year since I hit the tarmac.

Sorry to see you're still battling neti and shaney.
According to google artrosis is (osteo)arthritis but whatever it is I hope you get some relief soon.

KBO each, I think there's still a light on at the end of the tunnel.

yup, we are getting tomorrows weather today here too. Was planning to pile the dogs in the car and go shopping but they won’t like the noise and lashing rain in the car so we are hunkered down in the warm and I have done a Tesco order.
Yes Neti, osteo arthritis, hence the bone density scan and the magnesium tabs, i believe it helps you to absorb calcium from your food. Sorry to hear that Jude is down pin again, KBO Robi yes a wet winter, I think, is unhealthier than a cold one, certainly more miz.
Oh we poor biddies. Glad you popped in Robi. And Jude if you are out there ( and you shouldn't be you should be in bed) hope you are not suffering. I am taking paracetamol but hand is not so painful when I asked if I should keep taking diazepan he just shrugged and said if I want, most strange, so I think it will for a while longer as hand is certainly improved.
I have managed to hang out the washing and hoover with the lidl vacuum with one hand as it is so light. Am itching to do the ironing but as I can't even write properly I'll just have to resist.
Yes looks like you are going to get bad weather, so batten down the hatches.
Hi all
Horrible day ,windy and raining .
I won't give you chapter and verse about arthritis Neti .Hopefully they can do something but it's mainly a case of grit your teeth, keep moving and pace yourself which means sod the ironing if you don't feel like doing it. I think the only part of my body that doesn't have it is my hair :)
Nice to see you Robinia and sorry to hear Jude is unwell again. We're a load of old crocks lately.
KBO.

Just sitting here with the door open and I heard a shot and saw a cloud of white feathers, the blasted neighbour's grandson has been shooting. I am furious. Even if only a pellet gun it was only half metre from my fence, and all the cats etc round here, could rebound and hit anyone! Just received a text from hija's police friend saying yes it is totally illegal. so whe they come out of hiding I am going to show them!
It is more than illegal it is sanctionable. But as they are neighbours, I have written to the child's mother in the first instance, saying if it happens again, then they police will be called.
I have been to a terrific exhibition, cheered me up a lot. Some beautiful paintings (not many Matisses, though)

Its one of the few things I miss about London is the Galleries and Museums.
the thing about the agapanthus triptych is there aren't any agapanthusseseses in it. He did paint some but then changed his mind and painted them out again.
Question Author
Yes I can see why he did that. They are too structural. I remember as a teen, whne doing O level, going to see a waterlilies set of panels, cannot remember which one, I think maybe at the Tate....it was stunning and all i could think was what fabulous thin floor to ceiling curtains it would make. The movement of the fabric would add to the image. Art teacher unimpressed!
I bet that was lovely to see Jno.I can see how it would cheer you up.
Like Woofy I miss all the London culture although I don't miss the Science Museum one bit ..lol.
Norwich has quite a lot of exhibitions and they've got Alphonse Mucha on at the Sainsbury centre atm but unfortunately it's too far for me these days and I can't hike about for hours like I used to.
That's very dangerous Neti, you tell 'em and stay out of the line of fire for goodness sake !
It's a wild night out there,I hope our fence holds.
Night all.
